How we Fish

For all our rockfish and halibut fishing charters Ketchikan, we fish on the bottom with dead baits of jigs in depths ranging from 50-600 feet of water on anchor.

Bottom Fish in Ketchikan

We fish for hablibut, rockfish, grey and black cod, as well as kelp greenling and ling cod.

Halibut are flatfish and in fact, the Pacific halibut is the world’s largest flatfish.  Halibut are dark brown with a white or off-white underbelly.

Bottom fishing takes place April through September, though June, July and August are the best months. Most fishing harvested in these waters are between 18 and 100 pounds, though halibut over 300 pounds have been caught in the Ketchikan waters.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][cs_section parallax=”false” separator_top_type=”none” separator_top_height=”50px” separator_top_angle_point=”50″ separator_bottom_type=”none” separator_bottom_height=”50px” separator_bottom_angle_point=”50″ style=”margin: 0px;padding: 45px 0px;”][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_feature_headline level=”h2″ looks_like=”h3″ icon=”check-circle” class=”cs-ta-center”]Click here to learn more about our Halibut Fishing Charters Ketchikan.[/x_feature_headline][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][/cs_content]
